Can MuseScore Import PDF? Here's What You Need to Know

Whether a PDF can be imported depends on the type of PDF you have. Understanding the difference can save you a lot of time and frustration.

A PDF is designed to display sheet music exactly as it appears on the page.

Unlike notation files, a standard PDF doesn't contain editable musical information. It only stores the visual layout of the score, much like a photograph of sheet music.

Because of this, MuseScore can't directly edit most PDF files.

Opening a MusicXML file in MuseScore is straightforward.

Once imported, you can:
